DEMONSTRATORS
This project will create modelled approaches to overcoming the challenges we face with integrated water management, within a Transferable IWM Framework, and testing them in real-life scenario pilots and demonstrators that represent the majority of developments across the country.
The performance of the Framework will be measured throughout the delivery of the pilots and demonstrators, with the learning fed back to further iterate and improve the tools and methodologies that the Framework contains.

Typically led by local authority or non-profit housing associations able to take a longer-term role in delivery and management. Longer-term ownership and operation of assets leading to interest in whole lifecycle value and going beyond minimum standards.
Typically, a shorter-term return on investment, a clear ’exit strategy’ handing over to others to own and maintain assets. Can be focused on minimum regulatory standards, although exemplars are pushing boundaries.
Self-initiated housing groups co-creating, co-investing and co-designing new housing. Typically smaller scale but challenging conventional delivery, financing and ownership models. Often wanting to go beyond basic regulatory standards.
Thinking beyond existing regulatory structures to consider how water companies could play a key role in unlocking sustainable development and societal growth linked to new whole-life asset stewardship models and potential investment either as enabler or with a long-term interest and return.
