EWSC Project Reports
Tokenising Water Smart Communities
Water Ledger is a blockchain-powered platform for water management that creates shared, tamper proof records of water allocations, usage, trades and rights. It uses distributed ledger technology (DLT) to provide trust, transparency and accountability by giving all participants access to a single, immutable “shared point of truth” about the water they have, use, share and exchange
This report from the Enabling Water Smart Communities (EWSC) project focuses on the use of Environmental Incentives for Developers. Developer incentives to invest in water smart solutions (water efficiency, SuDS etc) where the Water companies will “pay” in monetary reward for solution. End users could gain credit benefits. This has the potential to unlock “water offsetting” market.
